Nutrition is an important part of cancer care - but that doesnβt mean itβs simple.
After a diagnosis, food can quickly become overwhelming.
You might be doing your best to eat well to support your body, but still feel confused, unsure, or out of sync with your needs.
You're not alone if you're:
Feeling overwhelmed by mixed messages about what to eat
Constantly tired, with little energy for the things that usually bring you joy
Wanting to feel stronger and more supported through treatment
Feeling disconnected from your body, or unsure how to care for it
Wanting to reduce recurrence risk and support your long-term health, but unsure where to begin
Alex Salmon APD AN
Clinical Oncology Dietitian | Founder - Feel Better Nutrition
Hey Iβm Alex, a clinical oncology dietitian supporting people living with and beyond cancer.
After more than a decade working in hospital oncology, I started Feel Better Nutrition to offer something thatβs often missing in fast-paced healthcare β space to slow down, make sense of things, and feel more supported along the way.
My dadβs long cancer journey, and my own struggles with food and body image in my earlier years, have shaped the way I practise and deepened my understanding of the psycho-social side of eating and recovery. These experiences have helped me show up with both clinical insight and a whole lot of empathy!
I offer compassionate, evidence-based nutrition support that helps people feel more confident with food, more at ease in their bodies, stronger through treatment and recovery β and a little more like themselves again.
Thatβs the kind of support I want for you.
How I Can Help You
-
1:1 Nutrition Counselling
Online 1:1 nutrition counselling for people living with and beyond cancer. Whether youβre feeling confused about food, struggling with side effects, or rebuilding trust in your body after treatment, these sessions are tailored to support you.
Each session includes a personalised assessment of your diet, symptoms (including gut health), lifestyle, and any recent blood results. Sessions often include an in-depth look at your relationship with food and your body, and help untangle barriers to nourishing yourself in the best way you can. -
Breast Cancer Programs
Choose from three breast cancer programs β an express option; dedicated support during treatment; and a focused survivorship pathway for those no longer in active treatment.
Each program includes a blend of 1:1 sessions, resources and recipes, and peer support, so you can get the right level of care for where youβre at. Whether you're managing side effects or rebuilding after treatment, these programs are here to help you feel more confident with food, stronger in your body, and supported every step of the way. -
